讲座简介:In this talk I will present a series of eye-tracking studies that investigated how watching captioned videos is affected by mismatches between spoken and written information. Furthermore, the studies also focused on differences between native and non-native speakers. Viewers do not need to read captions to understand the video. However, non- native speakers might process captions to a greater extent when watching a video in their less proficient language. The impact of viewing captioned videos with mistakes in the captions was also investigated with children. The eye-tracking data from adults and children will be discussed and compared with findings in the literature.
